Just been filling some bottles

Just been filling some bottles for a couple of customers, and noticed that the weights print on the bottles for the empty weight is not always right. One was 4oz heavier empty then the weight printed on the label and it did not have any added parts, such as gauges or blow-off valves. Just wondered if anyone else found this?

yes bottles do very from company to company, it is due to different size siphon tubes, valves etc... they just all use the 14 lbs. 12 oz label...

yeah mate... even bottles from the same manufaturer can vari in weight.... I've recently filled a NOS bottle that was 10oz lighter than it was supposed to be dead empty....

I had one NOS bottle that was 9oz lighter empty then the label listed, and it was a new bottle. It makes it a joke when the manufactuers say you must not fill overfill. I must admit that I do not like to fill bottles that are part full if I have not filled them from empty, that way I know the weight of the bottle and put my own sticker on with the empty weight on it.
