I'm installing a Zex wet kit (100 shot) in an 'O1 Cobra. How safe is it if I get hit from behind? Has anyone ever heard of any situations like this?

n2o itself isn't flamible, it just adds more oxygen into the cyl to allow you to burn more fuel. as long as you dont have an un-safe fuel cell in back you'll be fine for explosions in a rear end explosion. and stock gas tanks are designed to be safe in a rear end colision (exept in a Pinto, lol).

the only thing you would have to look out for would be having the nitrous fill the cabin with gas if the rupture disk ruptures. if your trunk isn't sealed from the cabin then NHRA requires that you have a blow down tube on the bottle to rought the gas outside of the car.

You are probably safe, getting a blowdown tube routed outside the car would be an ok idea, but really I think you would be fine.

The nitrous isn't flammable as f4me says, and the temperatures needed to make the oxygen (in nitrous) available as an accelerant would be so high...you'd already be long dead.

Just make sure the bottle brackets are bolted down real good and the bottle is clamped in securely. The bottle flying around inside the car would be more of a problem than anything.
