So, the trans will be in this week, and I'm just wondering... What should I set the 2-step at for the first pass? I went up to a 9.5" 4000 stall but I know it is gonna stall higher on the jug. I'm thinking about starting at a 3800 rev limit , but I may be able to actually set it around 4000. I'm just throwing out some bs here to ponder while the car is down. Any one running a similar setup? what is your 2-step set to? The last time I left on the jug w/ the 3200 stall and no 2 -step or T-brake, It pulled a wheel, turned left and scared the **** outta me!!! I know I have read that you want to set the 2 step just under true stall. I'm new to all this T-brake ****, so hook a brother up. Am I on the right path?:dunno:

you do not need to set the 2 step at the stall,it will flash if you have enough trouqe to do so,
how are you planning to activate the "jug"?
now unless you want to be putting in a new rear end I would keep it under 4000 rpm on you launch.
here is how I'm doing it.

tubro400 w/brake 8" coan max effort converter 2step w/rpm switch activated by the brake button, set 2 step to 3800 for the launch and the rpm switch to 4200, foot to the floor nitrous come's in 400rpm after launch, shift at 7800 work's every time , hand's off ,micro switch shut's it down when you lift, can't be any simpler than that.
you can see my leave's in the avatar, every single time and that's only a 120+/- shot! w/1.3 60's
got slick's? go'na need'em

I think you need some of those fancy wheelie bars like Hammered has!

Jamie, I hope that trans can handle the power you going to put it thru. ;) Our cars are very heavy and I ended up burning one pump and 2nd gear. So that was the last time I used the brake on my car. :( I didn't feel like spending $1400 on a pro built TH400. Driving around town and using the brake will only shorten the life span of the trans... and you know Im too cheap to put more $$$ to use a brake on a regular basis. lol Either way, your car should fly once you get all the bugs out of it.

As for using the 2step its just one wire to the button the other to 12v source. I would definitely use a double throw relay when using a WOT nitrous switch. click here (http://www.nitrousexpress.com/Instructions/trans_brake.pdf)

I really don't like driving the car on the street. I can, but it is such a friggin bone shaker it is mainly a strip car/toy. I'm on my 5th trans in about 6 months. I am so sick of pulling this friggin thing it isn't funny. For all the money I have spent trying to cheap out I could have bought a ****ing lenco by now. I'm into this one for $1600. I hope it works out this time!!!! If not The car will sit until I can afford a bullet proof name brand trans. I'm not QUITTIN' UNTIL I RUN A 9.XX!!!! I hear ya on the cheap part, I'm running this turd on a shoestring budget @ best( I'm into it for about 20k over 7 years). The juice is wired to a WOT throttle switch on a relay, and also a manual trigger switch. I prefer to control the juice as opposed to a window switch. I'll set the 2-step to3800, and hit the juice right after I get off the brake. I was leaving off the foot brake , raising it to about 2800 on the old convertor. Then hitting the juice just off the line, that was netting me 1.5 60's. Leaving on the jug seemed a bit much for my current suspension set-up. We shall see, all I'm doing is adding more bugs to work out :) .

not a window switch, just a reg. rpm ativated switch, set it for about 400/500rpm after you leave at 3800,
with a reg. switch it will only turn on at the set rpm and will stay on till you lift, you may be more consesent (sp) never like'd the way the window's worked myself ether.

also you can use the gray wire on the switch to actvate a retard box at the same time! kill two bird's with one stone!!

my stall is 5200 and i have the 2 step set at 4100, thats where it works best for me.

why are you going through so may gearboxes? buy a decent box and you will not have any problems.

good luck.
