Up here the drag strip closes this upcoming weekend (1 day from now) for the winter and I have been rushing trying to get the car ready for this weekend... Fisrt, I have been waiting on my tranny guy for 4 weeks for a diff bearing that I went to a local parts store and bought for him in less than an hour. So I just got my trans back last friday, then was able to get the engine back in with minimal trouble over the weekend.
Now, the fiero fuel pump went out when I was trying to start the engine for the first time late sat night. (I only have time to work on the car Tue, Thurs, Fri). So tuesday I rigged up the holley blue I had for the nitrous system to the engine, and the rest of the day was spent figuring out that I caught the wrong distributor gear when I changed manifolds over this summer, lol. now Thurs, got the dist right and engine running fine until I notice a stream of coolent coming from the back corner of the intake manifold... little leak that I must have missed when sealing up the new manifold. so I am at the point that I could smear form-a-gasket all over it and hope that I didn't miss and small spots on the engine side or I could play it safe and wait til next year. I figure that I have hobbled it togeather to much already and when you hobble things togeather, stuff breaks.
I guess it is probably for the best though, I put off until the winter things that probably should be replaced before a drag run like 20yr old ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.
sorry for the rant guys, I was planning on posting a bunch of pics from the day at the track on here to show my new setup, but I will try to get a few from it in the driveway instead.
