First I wanted to comment to Nate and Robert, this is a great site and has a lot of extremely useful information.

Now, on to the question. I wasn't sure what section to post this in, so feel free to move it where you see it to be more appropriate. I've been piecing together a nitrous get with used parts for about a month now tailoring it to how I wanted to set everything up. I basically have the entire system done, I just had one final piece to find -- a nitrous filter. I finally decided on a Wilson Manifolds nitrous filter per suggestion by my friend who said they made some quality parts and were a pleasure to do business with.

The problem is that when I received the filter (which also takes the place of the bottle nut) it is too large for my NX Bottle.

So my question is, what would be the best way to resolve this?
1. Any suggestions for a different nitrous filter that would work?
2. Is it possible to run an adapter of sorts to connect the filter/nut to the bottle?
3. Suggest a different brand nitrous bottle that the filter would fit onto?

There are 2 types of bottle valves for the Nitrous Industry, CGA 326 which has a nut and an insert (NX uses this). The other is CGA 660 that takes a larger nut and washer and the adapter is machined as part of the nut. Most other nitrous companies use this.

326 is medical industry, while 660 is for nitrous with sulfer dioxide (ny-trous +)
Wilson does not offer a 326. If you use a NX, your best option is to use an inline filter, bronze sintered core. You can find these at NX, Ny-Trex, Zex, and a few other major companies.

Thanks for the response Nate -- I figured getting a new filter would be the cheapest alternative.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to get an adaptor for CGA326 to CGA 660?

the bottle nut sizes are vastly different. http://nitrousforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17

i don't know of anyone with one.

you can go to your local performance shop and get a bottle valve and nut and just swap them out. compucar, NOS, and ny-trex use the CG660.

ny-trex is local to us here in orlando. or, i'll do you a big favor. come by my shop and i'll swap you out one of my compucar bottle valves for your NX one. how's that?

The only problem with that is that my bottle is full. If you don't mind doing that I'd definately take you up on that offer. I will be in Miami all weekend, and I work daily until 5:30 during the week. Let me know when it would be best for you to stop by and I'll do my best to catch up with you.
