I've been filling bottles all season at my shop. I've probly used 15 75lb mother bottles so far. I keep a pretty good log and I have found some of the bottles from the nitrous supplyer to be light. (not the 75lbs like they say) Not that I ever get that much out of them anyway but one time I only got 48lbs! Has anyone else had this trouble?
Mostly I wanted to give you guys a heads up!
I started weighing the mother bottles when they are empty and almost all of them are different! How do they fill these things without weighing the bottles?

not sure how they weigh them, but I was informed that they were only 65# to start and that I would only get about 55 out. (somthing to do with the sipon tube's not being perfectly alined(sp),

also when tranzporting them the the tube can (and has ) come loose!
I guess that's why some choose to use the inverted style.

so in the long run are we saving any $$$ at $2.75lb when we give back 10 to 15 lb? ( and they resell it to the next guy ) or is it just a feel good thing doing it ourself's ???????????

I'm sorry I made a mistake!!! it's only a 64# bottle and it's $2.57 a lb.
now here's how it break's down.
$165.00 for the gas
$50.00 deposit on bottle
$45.00 per year rental fee
total $260.00 out the door!!!

so I guess if you add in the rental fee of $45.00 it's $3.28 per lb.
that is what I pay for nitrous plus !

maybe i'll start getting non syphoned. i'm getting it for 1.93 per lb. now with a one time per year bottle rental fee of fifty bucks per bottle. so I keep two all the time.

My local shop started going to the welding supply store for their gas...their original supplier (donno who) was screwing them by 10-15% on each monster jug.
