The way I see it? You look for the potential in people and force them to do what they normally wouldn't do on their own. The best way to get into someones head is to intimidate the **** outta them , and force them to react!!! I'll make ya or break son, but YOU'LL DAMN SURE RESPECT ME EITHER WAY!!!

On a side note, I think you should still be able to lay the smack down on someone if they get outta line. IMHO They de-balled the military when they stopped letting the drill sargeant discipline with any means neccessary.

Yeah, that's about what my uncle and brother described. What did the recruit in the fifth video do wrong to get a barrage of DI's?

It's fine. We just find other ways to discipline them. If they let us do whatever we wanted then some DI's would take it too far and recruits would die. They have to regulate it somewhat.

I'm not sure. If I had to guess he didn't give the proper greeting of the day. On the other hand, they may have just done it to get it on video.
