Anyone on here running a Whipple? I'm currently running a Kenne Bell 2.3L supercharger and have been thinking about upgrading. I have pretty much reached the limits of the KB. Whipple currently has a 2.3L supercharger also that is supposedly equal-a little bit better than the KB. KB recently came out with a 2.6L blower for Lightnings but they are having a few issues with it. Whipple is currently R&Ding a 3.4L blower for the Lightning that should be released soon. According to Whipple and people in the Whipple community it's gonna be one hellova blower and have max PSI of something like 30. I just wanted to get everyones opinions and experiences with Whipple to better base my decision on who to upgrade with.:thumb_yello:

I messed with a Whipplecharged 04 Cobra. It was awesome. I think for all intents and purposes that a Twin Screw is a Twin Screw much like a Roots is a Roots, but that is just my opinion.

The Whipple 3.4L is going to be nuts, I would wait for it. Changing a KB for a Whipple would be a huge waste (also IMHO).

I did a Whipple install on a 2006 mustang. The setup was awesome. The fit was great and everything went together with ease. I was very impressed with it compared to other power adders I have installed. The only issue with it was the tune that came with it. It was more than a little lean. A custom dyno tune fixed that and netted another 40 hp. Made me a fan of Whipples.

Yeah any 'one size fits all' tune is probably sub-optimal anyway.

Yea, absolutely. Generally I find that they are fat on the fuel as a safety margin, but this one was out of the safety zone and way lean!

Here's some test pics of the hog I'm thinking about getting. If they ever release it...

Yeah, it's the largest blower there is for the Lightnings. It was announced a while ago and still hasn't been released yet. It's suppose to be efficient all the way up to 30 PSI. This blower may very well produce the first all boost 9 second Lightning.

A 9 second Lightning would be nuts!
