Hi there,
read several article related to n2o on cars, motocycle and even history warplane using n2o to boost up the power in engine, thats real magic and even bang of buck when looking forward for 1/4 mile drag...

Had asked my tuner in garage recently about Zex wet system into my small capacity 1500 toyota vios. Understand that toyota vios was manufacture for asia country. However the engine is the same as the US spec Scion Xb namely 'the box' with a 4 banger 1NZ-FE engine in it.

As i was looking forward for a ZEX 55hp wet shot in it but my tuner claimed that due to my intake manifold is made of plastic, the structure design it might cause fuel puddling. What he advice was to use direct port instead of wet nozzle.

Furthermore, best to use a piggybag ecu; Unichip ver Q to retard it overall trim ignition by 4 degree every 50shot of n2o...

Is my tuner way of explanation true on this issue? Because i read over the ZEX wet system installation manual and it stated that 50shot require 0 degree of timing retard...

Sorry for such a long and fussy mail, your reply is greatly appreciated.

Best Rdg,
Pat:lol2:

if you want to go cheaper then a full on direct port system then try resaerching dry kits, you will not get any fuel pudding with a dry kit. otherwise if you have the money (and urge for only a 55 shot) for a direct port go for it! thats the most advanced, most tuneability, safest, and you get the hardest initial hit when you first enguage the nitrous system with direct port.

you shouldn't need to retard the timing at all with a 55 shot, if you bump to a 75 shot in the future you might want to think about it.

:stupid: you shouldnt need to retard the timing for a 50 shot, and the rule of thumb (not the same for all applications mind you) is 2* per 50 shot. Now as far as piggy back ECU's go, unless you're doing some serious modding to it other than a small shot of nitrous, its totally unnecessary. And on the fuel puddling, well it may be possibe depending on the way the interior of the intake is designed, but i sprayed 100 shot on my grand prix gt with a plastic intake and i had no problems.

was the mechanic you talked to familiar with your specific application or did he just assume that since your mani was pastic it would puddle fuel? I personally don't have first hand experiance with your car so that is why I am asking about your mechanics credentials. there's nothing wrong with plasic manifolds in general with nitrous exept they have a tendancy to blow up on a backfire... don't worry about this with only a 50 shot.

Thanks a lot for the great advice....:roll1: In tat case, i will proceed to purchase the wizard of great wet system... Will post up pix in the forum with dyno chart after the installation..:roll1: Gd dayz, mate.

+1

Colder plugs are a must IMHO. Timing retard at 50hp I would suggest for high compression and/or boosted apps, but even then a healthy motor with proper AFRs will hold an 50hp unless you're already on the bleeding edge.

hey, its been a little while since you started this thread turbofong, how did everything go? have you made it to the dyno or drag strip yet? any install pics?

Hey mates, its been a real long time. Sori for not updating my mini project. Tied down by work and family commitment. Juz recently ordered DynoTune nitrous wet system from the states but yet install into my mini motor. Had even went into deep reading on the theory on nitrous sys from books ordered from GB. But my english is weak to understand...:crybaby: Lol...

But.... i got problems uploading my pictures!! Help! :worthy: Upon uploaded, it show me "Internal Server Error". :dunno:
