Hello there,

I am designing a Nitrous system for my car and have a quick question about a motor purge (bang button). I have a momentary switch that will activate the solenoids (wired in past the WOT micro-switch through a relay). My question is, I am running an MSD Programmable 7 ignition box that has a Step 1 retard. When I purge through the motor, should I activate the retard for that momentary hit of N2O and fuel to back the timing down for motor protection?

I don't think that it's necessary to have it in place during the purge ...but if it's wired to the noid for activation I don't see it having any ill effect.

I was planning on wiring the Step 1 Retard on the solenoid side of the WOT micro-switch, along with the motor purge switch. So, when at WOT, the micro-switch is closed, the ignition is retarded and the solenoids are activated. Same with the motor purge. It will activate the solenoids and retard the timing. Thanks for the info!
