I am currently forging my engine to run nitrous. but I am not sure what CC pistons to run. I've heard low compression dished pistons are good, then people recently started telling me high compression is good also. so i'm pretty much confused. and i really want to get it right the first time. i have a 96 mustang gt 4.6L. but i have '01 GT ported heads with forged valves. and racing cams.

Can anyone lead me in the right direction as far as a good choice for which piston CC?

street or strip? it's all about cyl. pres. on the street you might want to keep it a flat top, on the strip depending on your cam profile go for as much c/r as you can, but remember to wacth that timing, the more c/r the less timing and the more octane you'll need, but the gain's are great with a whole lot less spray!! any way you go make it a good forged unit and strong pin's there a whole lot more fogiving till you get right!!

nitrous doesn't care about compression like a turbo or supercharger does. what matters is how much and your tune. just like a NA motor, nitrous likes compression.

most 4.6L ford motors can withstand a 125 shot. from what i've read, above that and you need to look into forged pistons.

true! nitrous ddoesn't care, it's the rest of the engine that care's, more cyl. pressure equal's more power and the need for more octane and less timing! (and stronger stuff i.e. piston's, pin's, crank , ect.) so in realaity nitrous does care about c/r! turbo's and windmachine's build boost, nitrous it's there now!! so it need's to right the first time just like you asked,
