Well I have just started to build my new engine for this season, it is going to be a 302 stroked to 347, with a Trickflow cam and heads. Just dropped the block down to the machine shop to get it bored. Should have it back in 10 days for the first assembly before it goes to be balanced.

I have SPLIT a few of the blocks in 2, it would be a good idea to invest in a stud girdle and maybe a valley girdle to hold it all together. 450HP is the maxx on those stock blocks. Just from experience on that one!!:wiggle:

Hi thanks for the advice, I have fitted 4 bolt main conversion, so I am hoping it should hold together. I was waiting for the new Ford Boss block but they keep moving the delivery date back.

Not to be a party poopper, but I have seen to many stock 302 blocks split in two to have any faith in them. I have seen 4 bolt conversions, stud girdles, valley girdles and they all have the same result... :crybaby:
their split in half like a hot open sandwhich. I would hate to see ya spend the money on the machine shop only to trow it away.
