Figured I'd post this up since its been a little slow on here lately.

My buddy decided to get his 4th gen F-body dyno tuned. Only mods are MS4 cam, LS6 intake, Headers, cutout, and a HSW 150 shot. Stock heads. 02 Z28 M6.

For his tune without nitrous, it put down 384whp with I think 330wtq final on a mustang dyno. He had a mail order tune, but gained 15whp just from some fine tuning.

For his nitrous tune right after, he put down 508whp and 511wtq.

I guess I was way off on the torque of the NA run and off on the year. Its the bastard 1998. 385whp and 350wtq.

What was the big dip? Tire slippage? Pretty nice numbers. You state the performance tune, and they usually advance the timing for more power. So I was wondering if you guys pulled any timing, which you should have? Could you give the a/f ratio too, and whether timing was pulled and if not how much total N/A.

i am going to be running the same setup, should have my ms4 buy the end of next week and will prob end up spraying about 150 shot. i hope to get 400whp on motor tho

Let us know what tune you end up with and your new numbers. Yea, that MS4 cam is one wicked stick, and I have seen some killer n/a numbers on certain motors. I have even considered that cam in my quest to get 500 plus rwhp n/a. Will also be updating the heads at that time. What HP do you think you'll get n/a by just changing to that cam? Some have issues getting the idle correct, but it can be done when the tuner knows his stuff. I was reading up on some of the tricks they use to get the idle nice, and it can get quite involved. Hopefully I can figure it out, lol, as I am my own tuner, lol. Good luck.

yeah i will prob end up doing heads later down the road, and figured the ms4 would have the potential to make good power. im hoping for 400+whp natural. i am thinking about picking up a hp tuner or efilive and tuninig myself too

Nice. Wondering why the peak HP on the juice is at 5900rpm?? Did he just tell them not to go over 6000rpm on the spray? Left alot on the table if so. I pulled more than that with my old TR224/224 cam only setup with 125shot but that was on a dynojet.

Dip was from the Nitto DRs spinning on the dyno. We threw like 5 sand bags in the trunk. It was tuned NA(since before he had a mail order tune) and made the numbers above and then our tuner pulled some timing and tuned for nitrous. So its pretty much tuned for nitrous, but it still made more power NA than his previous tune with now timing pulled.

But for an update. It was a 98 and I guess they have problems with number 8 pistons doing weird things or something. Motor blew after about 15lbs of spray. Messed up everything. Cam and everything. He'll be doing an truck 6.0 swap with some other goodies.

For the guy wanting to do the the MS4 cam with the M6, I don't know if I'd go that big, but you are running 4.10 gears. My friend could not launch it to save his life, but he had the stock gears (2.72s I think). In my s2000 I ran the same 1/8th mile time as he did NA (8.5 but with him trapping 6mph higher) with him on drag radials and me on all season tires.

His idle was crazy lumpy, but sounded amazing.

And I don't know if I'd say the tuner was at fault. He was running a 75 shot with his other tune and I know that wasn't the best of tune. But I think that was probably pushing it for hp IMO.

I hate when people say this kinda stuff, but the dyno kinda is a heart breaker. This guy just put down similar power on the same dyno and it would be a lot more on another dyno even with the TH400 and rear end it has.
