I'm considering buying this system but I'm not sure how it works. Can anyone explain?

What is the big blue thing between the solenoids? It has a spring inside it - is it adjustable??

Why does it attach to 2 rubber hoses (The one has a braided cover on it.)

Thanks~!

Yea, I don't even know if it is a 2-stage setup... It's just what I've been told but I've never seen a setup like this before. I wish the blue part in the middle had a part number on it.

That is a standard NOS dry kit for cars with a return style fuel system. The blue thing in the middle is the nitrous regulator it bleeds a small amount of nitrous off of the main system and brings it down to 50psi. This in conjunction with the bypass tee which then lowers the pressure again down to a final pressure of between about 37-42psi depending on what jet is used in it. This pressure is then applied to the fuel pressure regulator to increase fuel pressure and add more fuel for the nitrous, the part number is 15850. The one you have is a few years old since it still has NOS printed on it.

thanks for the help figuring this out.

seems like a bad way to do things... very primitive.

to each his own....

Thats the same setup I have and love it. I have a fuel pressure safety switch hooked up to the second noid so if the fuel pressure isn't increased, it won't spray into the intake.

If it works then great! I guess I'm just ignorant to this particular setup. I 'd love to see a picture of your setup to figure out if I should buy this one or not.

Also, can anyone locate an install guide for this setup?

Thanks guys!

I found an install manual:

What I'd really like to figure out now is exactly how it attaches to the return line for the fuel. The large rubber hose wrapped in that stainless steel braided cover has me all confused.

The side of the tee with the jet in it goes toward the vacuum port in the manifold and the othere side goes to the regulator. So take the line off of you FPR and stick it onto the side of the tee with the jet in it. This style of kit works real well and can do a lot of power we have set up single nozzle dry kits like this over 300hp.

And on the vacuum port in the manifold and on the FPR make sure you put some hose clamps on it since they're not barbed. I had my hose blow off one time and it scared the crap out of me. Luckily I was only running a 30 shot testing it out and shut down right after I heard the hose hit the hood.

I always get people telling me that its a terrible way to run a dry kit. IMO its perfect.

I also checked your noob post and you're gonna throw this on a 350z right? Im not familiar with them. Do they have a fuel return line or are they like the new GMs and are returnless?
