Here is a run down for you.....completely stock motor, home port job on both upper and lower intake. Also port intake and exaust on the heads. will have short headers, 2 1/2 inch x pipe and flow master exaust, AOD trans with a nice shift kit and able to hold 500hp that is the HP i am trying to achieve. All with the stock short block. will change parts as i go to get times at the track.

Hey Tom,
What kind of car do you have? engine? I can gather it's a Ford from the AOD. Just a few of the things that are needed to help answer some of your questions. If it's a 302 the stock block is really stressed at the 500hp marker, you should have a main cap gurdel and a valley gurdel wouldn't hurt either. Those blocks can snap easily over the 450hp mark. I know, i did that one already. Split that sucker straight down the middle!! Pilled it till i killed it!!:naughty: :drive1:

YOu should be able to get close to that with a stock shortblock, but one wrong move and you will have two 4 cylinders. I run short headers as well, shouldn't be a problem. I used to run stock ported E7's, but switched to the TFS' for the weight reduction, didn't pick up much at all with the head swap. My best on E7's is a 10.12. Good luck!

Sorry I assumed the only car to have was a Mustang :) ........
But i appreciate the advice on stressing the block. Now my first real question is...What is the best and most economical way to get my fuel from the cell i have installed to the motor? All other fuel hardware is gone from the car.
It would be very helpful if someone could give me a walk thru. Pump type, line size to and from and if i should go with two pumps or one. Want to use a dry n2o system beginners kit of course. Thanx

Ok, I assume you are going EFI since you want to run a dry kit. I would use a Mallory EFI 110 pump if you are on a budget and a Weldon 2025 if you have some cash to invest. Run a -10 from the tank to the pump, with a 40 micron filter in the line, then -8 from the pump to the engine. From the engine to the regulator, run a -6, from the regulator to the tank, run a -6, make sure this return line goes into the top of the tank. Use a good fuel pressure regulator, make sure it is vacuum/boost sensitive. Weldon makes a great one, so does mallory. I use push lock line and fittings because they are much cheaper. You can do all the lines and fittings for less than 200 bucks.

welcome. seeing as you have a fuel cell, i would run two fuel pumps. one for the motor and one for the nitrous if it has two outlets. you can run a low pressure fuel pump for the nitrous side. use a fuel pump in the 5-7 psi range.

Ok Mrr23......but I must say im totally lost on the 2 pump set-up. Could you show a diagram?...if possible ,im not understanding where the second pump would plumb to.

i just reread, you are trying to do a dry set up. i was thinking wet kit.
here's a pic of a fuel cell

you put that in and run -8AN braided line to the electric fuel pump which should be next to the tank and no higher than the bottom of the fuel cell. then, from there, you run the braided line to the inlet side of the fuel rail.

Here's a pic of the fuel tank in my car. It may show you the detail of the supply line and fuel pump. I run two fuel filters one between the tank and pump and one between the pump and engine.
