I'm not sure if I'm in the right spot, but here goes. I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and I am wanting to put an undersized supercharger pulley and crank pulley on it. On top of that I would like to stick a shot of nitrous in it as well. How do I find out what it can handle? Everything is pretty much stock thus far. If there is any mods I should do before doing these please let me know. From what I understand, the pulleys are not a problem and I have been told probably no more than a 75 shot of nitrous. I do plan on doing some more mods later on, but I must start somewhere.

well i dont know what your grand prix has for internals meaning i dont know if they are forged or cast or what so im gonna assume they are cast and if i would go above a 50 shot especially if you are putting a smaller pulley on the supercharger to get more boost and even with this small of a shot if you install the nozzle before the supercharger you may see close to if not more than a 50hp gain cause it will help to cool the air in the SC down plus the fact that it will do what nitrous is supposed to but which ever shot you decide to go with i would recommend a wet shot

Gtp's Have Fairly Well Built Internals However The Key Here Is Tuning. While Only Running A Small 35 Hp Shot Might Be Ok For The Lower End The Pistons May Not Like It To Much. Find The Nearest Dyno Tuner And Go From There.

I've got to agree tuning is important, alot of people just slap a smaller pulley on their supercharger and expect the computer to compinsate. Which it will to a certain degree, but things like timing and duty cycle of your injectors should be checked by an experianced tuner first before other mods are made! Now as far as the nitrous goes, i have installed a 75 shot on that car with no problem. HOWEVER!!! that was on a STOCK pulley GTP. It really depends on how many sizes down you are running the charger(psi increase) i would say start with a 35 shot and go from there. ( testing on a dyno highly reconmended) Keep in mind the nitrous will also cool your intake air charge in the cumbustion chamber therefor increasing boost!! Also it wouldn't hurt to run a spark plug at least one heat range cooler. Maybe some unleaded race fuel too.:D
