A tipical debate question... Should I use a directport or a single nozzle??? While single nozzle systems are very effective and reliable, they are limited to your intakes abilities to evenly distribute air and fuel. (nitrous is also effected) Obviously most sheet metal intakes are free of any obstructions, however some stock cast intakes have pleanty. For example the stock intakes found on Acura GSR's, this intake has a plate between the upper and lower sections that has butterflys in it. While this intake has no effect on nitrous usage(the butterflies are open on wide open throttle) if they are not operating correctly or opening completely, it could lead to "Puddling" in the intake and a "Spike" in any cylinder. Now reguardless of intake designs(configuration or materials used to construct) a directport system is always more consistant and capable of higher horsepower levels. Granted they cost more( intial purchase and install) but if you have the extra cash a directport is always the way to go. Now if you are not planning on upgrading you engines internal parts and you only want a small shot then a single nozzle sytem is the way to go! (keep in mind you should NOT exceed more then 20HP per cylinder on STOCK engine internals, example a stock 4cyl engine shouldnot use more then 80HP, 6cyl 120HP, 8cyl 160HP etc..) now what qualifies your engine as stock?? if you HAVENOT changed any of the following parts you have a stock motor: Pistons and Rings, Connecting Rods or Crankshaft! Just because you ported your heads, or swapped your cams doesnot mean your car can handle more squeeze!! Happy Juicing!!:D

Great info. One thing I would like to add is that the more effecient an engine design and how well it was built "stock" will greatly effect the amount of nitrous it can handle. For example ford "5.0" roller motors had forged internals and could handle 50hp more juice without tuning. The same could be said of LS1's over SBC's and even the LT1. Just something else to throw into the pot!!

the don't exceed 20hp per cylinder is dependant on motor used. my LS1 motor is putting up with about 30hp per cylinder. still good info.

i'm planning on doing a 150 shot on my 3800 once my walboro 255 comes in.
