well it's fri and we're off to the track, going to see if we can top those #'s with a fuel change, and maybe bump the fogger to 250 if the c16 will let me put a little timming back in.
we'll see, best 60 last time was 1:34.9 maybe we'll bump the plate's up also.
se ya later tonite after I get back, Matt.

well no big diff. with the fuel change (cep for the xtra $20.00 for 5 gal!!) car ran about the same , track was pretty slippery could only get 1:37 60's, and one heater blew a fuze just before the 2nd run, that was fun, one bottle warmer than the other.... guess what happen's? ( I'll wait to see what anybody's thought's are) but all in all a great nite.. lost a fan belt on the rv on the way home that was fun good thing I had a spare.
one of these day's I'll have to figure how to get the vid off the kid's phone and post it pretty cool.

one bottle with more pressure than another causes a balance issue and doesn't allow constant nitrous flow.

you got that right! even though the combined pressure was roughly 1050psi one bottle will try and fill the other and restrick flow to the system and cause an over rich condition as is what happened on the second run.
fixed heater (bad fuse) and 3rd run repeated 1st run in ET.

Matt what was the fuel change? Did you change your fuel curve by leaning it out some or richening it?
Also, curious as what your WOT timing is like and if you run a special curve. That's something I have been playing with. A curve that pulls the most timing at torque peak, then gradually add some back as we go to red-line. With the big shots, we can in theory, get a little more power this way without burning a hole in the piston, lol, been there done that, lol. The thing is though, that N2O actually works better and can make more power with less timing, at least at times in the curve and that's the tricky part, finding out what really works per combination. One of my dry buddies is running a total of about 8°, IIRC, and holds the world dry LSx ET record at 8.4x or 8.2x (f-body). So we can see the potential benefit of low timing with spray. Now of course my perspective is coming from the land of LSx, but believe this idea to be true with all platforms.
Sorry to hear that the track wasn't holding well. Also something to consider, doesn't that fuel have a slower burn time, and thus lower hp out-put per same size shot, compared to the lower octane fuel used previously? Probably not enough of a difference to matter?

the switch was from torco 116 to VPc16, there has been some problem's lately with the torco brand, ie water, inconcestent (sp) blend's and so on. just looking for something to take it's place (and not break the bank )
timming total is 36 deg. (locked out) pulling 6 out on first kit (175+/-hp) 2nd kit come's on 2 sec out pulling 6 more, also 175hp pulling 2 more after the shift to 3rd, been working great plug's look near perfect.
will get the speck's up her shortly on the motor and it's set up had it posted a while back w/ pic I see if I can pull'em up.

So, The 3 stage thing is confusing me matt (thats not too hard to do :) ) , or is it only a 2 stage? What is the total amount of juice your motor sees at one time(in a HP value)? Is it 175 on the first hit than another 175 on top of that? 350 total? What does the car run N/A? Just curious

it's only a 2 stage, but I use an msd 3 stage retard box, first stage are plate's with 52/52 jetting, second stage is the fogger with 26/28 jetting.
NOS tell's me 52/52 on the 1st give's aprox 75/100 hp, I pull 6deg 1st step, the jet chart say's 26/28 on the fogger should be aprox. 150/175hp, I pull another 6 deg. now because of the rpm it reach's... close to 8 grand I pull another 2deg in third gear.
car's been running about 10:70 on motor @36 deg total timming,
car should be running closer to 9:30's at the nitrous setting's I'm at, just need a few more run's to get it compleatly dialed in, but I afraid they will shut me down for not having a chute ( only 10 mph slower than needed)
Matt.
Oh boo hoo I'm only 10 mph slower than needing a chute
You make me sick Matt
:puking:
Awesome work mate :worthy:

matt, why dont you pull all the timing in the first stage and run more gas?

just trying to creep up on it little by little. track has'nt been all that good the last few time's out, will try and bump the 1st kitt this week and readjust the 2nd kitt's timer, right now it hit's at just about the 2nd shift, need to bump it up a 10th or so then step up the HP on it maybe to 250, if the track is holding..lol
