Leaving Lines Charged

How long can you leave the nitrous lines charged for? For instance, if I charge the lines at 6pm with the anticipation of using nitrous at some point that evening and leave the bottle open (on), will that create a problem for my car? I have an Edelbrock 50 shot kit.

i leave mine on all the time. 24/7. i also, understand that my nitrous solenoid might fail at any given moment. which this could lead into a lot of money to rebuild my motor.

Is that what happens if you leave it charged for too long?

i've done mine for years this way. never had a failure, yet. some have.
