Hello, new here just been reading the FAq's etc.
I have aquired a NOS branded bottle and gauge from a friend for basically nothing. To be honest i never intended to run nitrous, because I know how easy they can pop motors etc. However, I couldnt resist taking it off him.

Now I have thought about it and I dont really want a bottle sitting in my boot doing nothing. I have read on the nasioc.com wrx forum that nitrous can be used to spool up large turbos quckly?
If i was going to use nitrous I would really like to use it for this reason as I am currently running a large turbo.

The motor is a EJ207 JDM engine. 2.0ltr, factory forged pistons, sodium valves etc. They are VERY strong motors.
My current tune im am pushing 26 psi of boost into it. ECU is controlled via a ECUTEK re-programed cpu. A Bosch 040 600hp rated pump is in and also hi flowed injectors.
The current level of tune netted 247.6 kw at all 4 wheels on a dyno dynamics roller dyno. and 500nm torque at 5000rpm.

I am thinking about making use of nitrous, but no more than a 35hp shot. I want to play ti extremely safe - as the motor is currently in a highish state of tune - and i cant afford to rebuild it if somehting goes 'pop' .

What are your recomendations? I really dont want to spend much on setting up the system. I am leaning towards a dry shot system - although reading thru this forum - a wet systems was recommended for turbo charged cars.
What bits and pieces do i need?
sizes of lines, fittings, solenoids etc?

Also - the nitrous would only be used for the occational track drag meet. I dont plan to keep on my car for a awfulyl long time - rarther just to have some fun with it.

Thanks

i dont think ull see much of a difference with only a 35 shot i think if the motor is as strong as u say a 75 would be very safe and i agree a wet shot would be best now i dont know wut all u would need cause i too and a newbie when it comes to nitrous and there r plenty of brilliant minds on here for when it comes to nitrous

when it comes to turbocharger and supercharger applications, they'll get bigger results from the same shot. my friend with his 04 mustang cobra put a 50 shot on his car and got 60 rwhp out of it.

basically you need to get a 4 cylinder EFI wet kit without the bottle.

How easy is it to return the car back to stock if a wet kit is fitted?
How exactly does one fit a wet kit??

Does a wet 35 shot need to be tuned ?

pretty easy. the only thing i don't know is if you have a fuel test port to hook the line to supply fuel.

as far as tuning, the baseline jet charts are close. usually on the rich side.

So your saying with the wet kit, spraying a 35 shot - will result in lower AFR's (rich). So basically the ecu wont have to be tuned??

Would timing need to be pulled, or is a 35 shot pretty much safe?

with a 35 shot i dont think ull have to do much if anything to the timing unless ur running way advanced already

Force Induction motors LOVE juice due in part to the cooling properties of the nitrous. Depending on the size of the shot and engine, the numbers can become exponential.

If you want to be safe, just drop (1) heat range colder on your spark plug w/ factory timing.
