I finally deleted my cats and used some parts from various places to make my own catless mids. I have an exhaust leak on both sides at the first joint behind the collectors. I used some 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" 3 Bolt Collector Adapters and some pipes I got from AA to make them. It's not leaking where the adapters go into the pipe at all. It's just leaking from where the pipes I made go into the existing exhaust pipes. What would be good to use to seal these joints and keep them from leaking? Besides welding...

slip joint's? or flange's?
on slip joint's you can use a sealer ( forget the name) but it come's in a tube is grey in color should be able to get it at just about any part's store, go down to the motor pool and see what they use on the turbo joint's, that mil. spec. stuff might be just the **** your looking for.
now on flange's you can use silocone sealer " only the red high temp stuff" work's great for header flange's ( no gasket at all )make sure to keep it off the bolt thread's.

Thanks Matt! They're slip-joint. I tried the gray sealer stuff and it just crumbled and blew out once it got hot. I'm probably just going to have the joints welded and be done with it.

ya know dynatech make a clamp it clamp's 360 deg's, also dynomax has a stainless lap joint and butt joint style clamp's, these may solve your problem.
there in the summit cat.
