Hey ppls I installed a nos 05116 dry nitrous kit on my 02 mustang gt. My gt has returnless fuel setup so the nos kit raises the fuel pressure to put more gas through the injectors. I installed it taking time following the instructions step bye step. I even bought a 40.00 crimper to properly crimp the packard style connectors. I soldered and other connections not using the packard connectors. In the kit it specifically says to test the kit before hooking up the bottle. It says to engage the kit and drive the car and floor it and look for black smoke i.e running rich due to kit w/o nitrous hooked up. It also says to listen for the nitrous solenoid to click. My car is kinda loud and i cant hear the solenoid. But the problem is i dont see any evidence that the car is running rich under wot conditions. no black smoke.... Id love to get any ideas or hints from ppls runnign this kit. Also any other way to test it? meh im kinda bummed atm lol.
Thx for your time Bryan

well you dont need the car on to hear the solenoid click just arm the switch and go to WOT, but I have been told that a dry kit wont work with a returnless fuel system ( I have returnless on my scion), and NOS told me I couldnt do a dry setup, but wait for someone with more knowledge to jump in here

The 05116 increases the fuel pump out put by tricking the car into thinking it has very loe pressure. Your car should have a fuel pressure test port, if so hook a gauge up to it and see if the fuel pressure goes up when you activate the nitrous. You can't always see the black smoke. Those kits work pretty good. I put one on a 99 Cobra Base line it made 265HP and 261 ft/lb with a 63 jet and about 900psi it made 393HP and 423 ft/lb

Ok so i can test it w/o moving just revving the engine? The fuel pressure sensor is in the test port (shrader valve) if i unhook that will the kit work? I have a fuel pressure tester to try it out. Thx for your info..

I was playing around iwth it today after talking to Nos tech. If i put a jumper wire between the 2 wires on the fuel pressure switch everything works....(solenoid clicks and engine stumbles from being rich) So I started to believe it was the switch. I then looked up online on how to test the switch and it tested out good. I grounded out one side of the switch and put a test light between the other side and positive on the battery. At idle it didnt light up but as soon as i gave it some gas it went right on. The switch is set at 35psi from holley. Any suggestions? Bryan

Try adjusting the switch. If you take the rubber plug out there is a allen screw turn it counter clockwise to lower the pressure. Sometimes they will be set higher than they should from the factory.
