How low do you run your bottles

Hi Guys

How low do you run your bottle?

The other day at the track on my 5th run using 100 shot towards the end of the strip, the car bogged, as though the gas was out, I did check the pressure when I got back to the pits and still had 900psi. It was my last run of the day so I packed up and went home. The following day I weighted the bottle which is 10lb and found I still had 4lb left.

Any thoughts.

i can get mine down to the last 1.5 to 2 lbs. bottle angle seems to be the issue here if your pressure was still 900 psi.

What kind of bottle are you using?

I used to mount my bottle sideways (on the passenger back seat floorboard muhuhahaha) and I couldnt get much lower than 2-3 lbs due to the pickup being in a funky location.

I agree with nate... what type of bottle and brackets are you using, also is your bottle mounted with the bottle valve pointed toward the front of the car?

Hi Guys

I am using Edelbrock 10lb bottles using the brackets supplied with the kit, the label is facing up so the syphon tube is at the bottom. The bottle is mounted front to back with the valve pointing towards the front. The bottle is mount in the trunk. The line runs along the transmission tunnel inside the car and pass through the front bulkhead just behind the carb.

everything should be fine with the bottle. are you by chance using teflon tape or anything on any of your connections? the only other thing I can think of is perhaps a clogged solenoid or nozzle or something of that nature.

No I am not using any teflon tape, but I must admit I have not checked the filter since my last outing. I will have a look.

Check your plugs and see if it went lean , you might have felt the car running out of fuel on the big end and not running out of nitrous .
Do you have a big enough fuel pump for your setup ?

Most bottle setups will start to run out between 1.5 and 3 lbs depending on how much the siphon tube moves around .
